Donelson has “come to the front! Brunch at the Sweet Milk Restaurant on Donelson Pike was a treat indeed. A restaurant that you would usually find in the so-called trendy parts of the town has settled in this established east side neighborhood. An airy wide open spaced interior with an outdoor patio was full of cheerful patrons enjoying their delicious meals. Although it was the prime brunch time on a Saturday morning, the wait for a table was minimal. The hostess quickly seated our party of three near the front which easily accommodated the walker I use.
I chose the cheese and sausage omelet served with hash browns and a biscuit with jam which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My fellow diners chose the breakfast table casserole and the fried chicken biscuit served with hash browns. Absolute raves from these diners were evident with leftovers apparent. Lattes for my co-diners and regular drip coffee for me complimented our meal. Bottom line—the Sweet Milk breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant is highly recommended and a great place for the locals as well as the obvious tourists that were also in attendance.
Open for breakfast and lunch, they close at 3 pm. Lots of free parking available in the attached parking area. Don’t miss this east side gem of a restaurant.
