The Three Jimmy's -- A Restuarant Review

The Three Jimmy’s is one of those out of the way, off the beaten path, restaurants in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Located behind a strip mall at the corner of Glades Road and East Parkway, you have to be looking for it to find it.  The restaurant contains a large bar and several booths and tables for its customers.  We arrived for a late lunch on a snowy March day and most of the customers appeared to be locals.  Our party of seven was seated at a table near the rear of the dimly lit restaurant. There was little décor in the restaurant and it did appear to be a place where the locals would be in attendance.  The restaurant offers patio dining for days unlike the day we visited and it also offers entertainment by local musicians on several evenings of the week.

We chose from the lunch menu which had a variety of sandwiches as well as other dishes.   I chose the barbeque sandwich which was called The Big Pig.  It was served with two sides.  I chose cole slaw and based on the waitress’ recommendation, their homemade gouda mac and cheese. The barbeque was acceptable, but not as good as the Texas barbeque which I was familiar.  The recommended mac and cheese, however, was excellent and some of the best I have ever had.  Several of my other fellow diners had this dish and they agreed.  My wife chose the club sandwich which was also served with two sides.  The sandwich was very large and my wife was only able to eat half of it, with the other half being part of our take home box. The other guests also were served large portions of their meals.  You won’t leave the Three Jimmy’s feeling hungry.

The Three Jimmy’s has an extensive menu offering everything from breakfast to dinner, including pizza, pasta, steaks and ribs. We even considered returning to the restaurant for another one of our meals but decided we should save that for our next visit to Gatlinburg.  Bottom line, I highly recommend The Three Jimmy’s when visiting Gatlinburg.  Although it has a bar atmosphere, it is very family friendly.  The prices are moderate considering you are in the Gatlinburg area.  I don’t know who the Three Jimmy’s are, but they have done a good job with their restaurant.
