I am not a big fan of deli-type food, so I wasn’t looking
forward to our visit to Jason’s Deli.
But the grandkids were in charge of picking the place to eat ant this is
where they chose. Why did they want to
go here? Well, we will get to that
later. Jason’s Deli is a fairly large
national chain which has been around since 1976 according to their ads. The restaurant claims to serve mostly healthy and natural foods.
Sure enough their menu offers the type of foods you would
expect in a deli. There are soups and
salads and their entrees include meatless eats, muffalettas and specialty
sandwiches, clubs and paninis. A kid’s
menu included mac & cheese for the granddaughter and gluten free chicken
nuggets for the grandson.
Since I was not a great fan of any of these food offerings, I
elected for their salad bar which according to the menu, I could indulge all I
like in fresh organics, with dozens of toppings, real cheeses, fresh made sides
and their famous mini muffins. The salad
bar was large and did offer all the items one would expect to meet the requirements
of a meal sized item. The greens were fresh and there were numerous toppings. There were even complete boiled eggs as a
side. The little mini muffins were
actually quite good. All in all the
salad bar provided a delicious and full meal.
The other adults in our party also chose the salad bar and they too were
pleased with the ingredients. I left
Jason’s Deli very pleased with my meal and will put them on my visit again list,
especially if I am looking for a salad bar.
Unfortunately there is not one too near where I live, but the chain is expanding
and hopefully we will see one soon.
So why did the children want to choose Jason’s Deli as their
must visit place to eat. Well, you see
every customer gets their choice of free ice cream--vanilla, chocolate or
swirled together. With this unexpected treat,
everyone left the restaurant quite pleased.
