The Winner!!!!

WKDZ News Item -- November 9, 2022

While five familiar faces will return to the Cadiz City Council for two-year terms under unopposed Mayor Todd King, a new name was selected Tuesday night to serve the council’s station.

Tim Bridges finished sixth with 380 votes — edging out Frankie Phillips by 33.

His father a former long-time city servant for Cadiz, Main Street and East End Cemetery, Bridges said he got an itch, and wanted to work for the people in his retirement.

Now expected to work with those re-elected — Brian Futrell, Susie Hendricks, Susan Bryant, Bob Noel and Brenda Price — Bridges said the previous council “did a good job.”

He’s looking forward to learning.

And he’s hoping the rest of city council welcomes him on board.

Brian Futrell received the most votes for council at 488, Hendricks had 456, Bryant bagged 453, Price parlayed 423 and Noel nabbed 409.

Former councilwoman Jeannie Bodine finished with the seventh-most votes at 348, while local political newcomer Dustin Gilbert grabbed 221.
